The 1980s. WHAT VEHICLE DO YOU USE TO COMPETE IN MCC EVENTS?
A Mazda MX5 MRk1 Miata, bought from a fellow MCC competitor so supercharger, suspension, hydrolic brakes, roll bar and on board compressor already sorted. HOW HAS THE VEHICLE PERFORMED AT MCC EVENTS?
The car has been reliable, but is looked after by A local garage after an event, as it’s my everyday drive. WHAT ADIVCE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT ENTERING THEIR FIRST LONG DISTANCE TRIAL?
Start in class R to get a feel for it... it’s designed for your every day car with less challenging sections but has a timed element to it. Learn to reverse safely off a section. Turn off engine. Put into gear and use your handbrake also listen to your Marshall’s advice. A sense of humour helps especially at night.
