Spill kits and fire extinguishers
Motor Sport UK requires all car competitors to carry a small spill kit, which is defined as one being capable of dealing with spillages up to 1.25 litres capacity (T1.3.24 refers) and a minimum 1.75 litre capacity AFFF fire extinguisher for cars first used before 2019.
A higher standard for fire extinguishers is recommended for all cars and is Mandatory for new build vehicles from 1st January 2019. The higher standard is Mandatory for all vehicles from 1st January 2022. Full details can be found in the Motor Sport UK Year Book. Compliance will normally be checked at scrutineering.
