2020 Exeter Trial - The Exeter Taster
From 08.00 on Saturday 4thJanuary 2020

There might be Members or friends of members who have always fancied a go at the Exeter trial, but not riding at night. Here's their chance to experience the 'Exeter Taster'.

The Exeter Trial organised by the Motorcycling Club is the youngest of the clubs ‘big three and was first held on Boxing Day 1910 when it was known as the ‘London to Exeter and Back Winter Club Run’. It did not become the Exeter Trial until 1935.
As Members will know, the full trial is over a distance of 250 miles starting from Cirencester and two other locations from 19.30 on Friday evening 3rd January and finishing in Torbay on Saturday some 16 hours later. The Main trial comprises some 17 sections and tests and the slightly less demanding O class, 15 sections and tests. A significant number of sections and tests are conducted at night.

We already have a good entry in both the main Trial and O class, but would welcome entries from riders in The Exeter Taster starting after breakfast from Crealy Adventure Park near Exeter at around 08.00 on Saturday 4thJanuary.

For Taster entrants in the Main Trial this will mean a route of 80 miles with 7 observed sections including the famous Tillerton Steep, Fingle and Simms. Taster Entrants in O class will have 5 sections including Donkey Trot over a route of 75 miles. All these hills will be ridden in daylight.

You will start from Crealy Adventure park after scrutineering and breakfast and ride the same route as your fellow participants to the Torbay finish on a non award basis.

The cost of the Exeter Taster will be £50 per entrant.

Any enquiries should be directed in the first instance to the Trial Secretary:  Dave Sapp

Entries for the Exeter Taster open on 1st December and close at noon on Friday 20th December 2019.
