Long Distance Trials Bikes We Like
« on: October 15, 2019, 04:06:57 pm »
I saw this on the internet and thought, that'd do well in an LDT, though, perhaps not with me riding it. Based on a Honda 350  twin.  I particularly like the knee armour between the header pipes  :D

Anyone else got any other good bikes?

I was looking at those Yamaha TW225's. They use the serow engine but have a fat rear tyre. Wasn't sure weather this would be a good thing or not.

Clive Cook entered a parts bin special in the Lands End 2019, using a 14" TW125/200 rear wheel, see http://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=286.0 .  I don't know how effective the fat rear tyre is.

Yes I remember talking to this guy at the start at plusha. Nice chap, great looking bike. Love the RD tank.

I think he had a trail wing tyre on his. Much better looking tread pattern that the standard one fitted by yamaha.

It is a kawasaki z400 twin. And I think it was his fist event.

Wonder if he still has the bike and if he's doing the LE again this year.

Think we are getting mixed up Steve. We were referring to the Kawasaki on Paul's link with the fat rear tyre and not the Honda pictured at the top of this thread.

I've reattached the link below

Rather confusingly it says Yamaha on the tank. Hahahaha

Never seen one of these before. Spotted this on eBay.  A very classic looking version of the much loved serow.

Like the bling tank.
