Tyre Options
« on: May 19, 2019, 11:44:18 am »
Morning all.

Got a question regarding the Motoz Xtreme Hybrid. All the info and reviews suggests it's very similar to the MT43 that we all predominantly run. The tread pattern is slightly different to the MT43 trials tyre. Will it meet the criteria laid down by the club? They seem to be a hit with the majority of TRF members at the moment.

I'd be interested on people's views.

I think the gaps in the blocks might be too big....

TRF does not equal MCC or ACTC Trials.

Have a look at the ACU and MCC Tyre regulations.

Hi Phil,

This tyre - and other hybrid tyres - are the subject of discussion at the moment and I'll come back shortly with an official view.

The club is considering going to a 'specification plus a list' approach for tyres. Watch this space.

In the meantime if you have any evidence about take-up of this tyre I'd be glad to hear it, either via this forum or by email.

Like the TRF the MCC is affiliated to the ACU and as such the MCC seeks - usually successfully - ACU approval to vary from ACU tyre regulations.

I can't speak for the ACTC but we try to remain aligned.

Kind regards,

MCC Motorcycle Tyre Officer
