I am building a Triumph Greeves with a 58 Hawkstone frame I have the original alloy tank but I need something with more capacity for our trials  I prefer alloy but steel would do ideally it would be from a Greeves roadster range

Hi Tim,

Have you asked on the Greeves Riders Association forum or in their club magazine?

And are you sure you need a bigger tank? My TFS tank is usually easily sufficient on events like the Wyegate. The bike has the original engine and I don't know how they compare to a Triumph.

Cheers,

Ian.

Tim, would you consider a tank from a Japanese bike?  If so, you could visit D & G Motorcycle Breakers, Clothall Bury Farm, Clothall, near Baldock SG7 6RJ.  They have a shed full of tanks from 1970s, 1980s bikes. If you can take the frame down, they'll help you find a tank that'll fit the Greeves frame.  When I was down their place the prices were reasonable.

The Greeves has a single tube spine as do a lot of bikes from that era so your chances a good.
